Project Title: Improving Cervical Cancer Screening in women living with HIV attending Chronic Disease Clinics in semi-rural Tanzania

Project Description: We aim to assess with a mixed-method, before-/after-study, the impact of a bundle of interventions, defined upon national and international recommendations, which consists of: portable colposcopy, HPV testing and treatment of precancerous cervical lesions by LEEP. This study will also provide evidence on the prevalence of cervical disease in the cohort, stratified by stage and co-infections, as well as on the acceptability, feasibility and costs. Additionally, we will assess the performance of a novel diagnostic... We aim to assess with a mixed-method, before-/after-study, the impact of a bundle of interventions, defined upon national and international recommendations, which consists of: portable colposcopy, HPV testing and treatment of precancerous cervical lesions by LEEP. This study will also provide evidence on the prevalence of cervical disease in the cohort, stratified by stage and co-infections, as well as on the acceptability, feasibility and costs. Additionally, we will assess the performance of a novel diagnostic test (QG-MPH) and established tests (Prevocheck and Seegene Anyplex TM Il 28 HPV Test) as potential triage tests for the development of future clinical decision algorithms for cervical cancer screening.
